How to Record Video Response during a Lesson

Modified on Mon, 13 Feb, 2023 at 9:28 AM

There is a point in the lesson video when the teacher asks a question and an opportunity for the student to record an answer appears.

There is a choice to record an answer, upload a video, or skip this stop on the lesson video progress bar.

When clicking on the Record button, a pop-up will come that shows the student’s face and has a red button. Click the red button to start recording.

Once a student clicks the record button there is a countdown – 3, 2, 1 – and then the recording begins.

Once the student completes their video, they will click the red button again.

Once the recording is stopped a dialog box will appear.

That is an indication that the video is uploading.

At this point, the student could choose to start the video recording over again, otherwise they need to wait, and the pop-up will change to show the student’s successfully uploaded video answer.

The student can watch the video and start over, but if all is well the student should click submit.

Once the video is submitted, the box will change to show the student recording as well as the video recorded by Explore Time friends

.

The student can watch their own video, or any other student videos that have been submitted.

There are times when a student has their window smaller than normal, and the buttons will not show at the bottom of the pop-up window.  In these cases, the student will need to scroll down to see the start button or make their entire window bigger.

If your student encounters an issue when recording their video response, please check out this article.
