How to Successfully Make a Golden Envelope Message - GEM

Golden Envelope Messages are an opportunity for parents and family members to add a recorded message to the lesson path of students.   

 
To make a GEM please use your parent account and find the Golden Envelope Messages section on your dashboard. 

 
Select a lesson.  

Then select the student for whom you wish to record a GEM.   

A page will load where you can either record a video, upload a video, or share a link with a family member so that they can record a GEM.   

 
Once you have completed your recording a message will pop-up saying that the video is being processed.   

When your message video successfully loads completely, the pop-up will change to show your video.  Then submit the video or choose to start again.   

If you do not see your video, then choose Start Over and re-record the video.  

Please note that the same is true for any family members with whom you share the GEM link.  They need to only hit Submit once they see their successfully loaded video.   

 
Also note that if the GEM was not uploaded in time, or was not uploaded successfully, the student will see the GEM icon on their lesson path, but it will be a blank white page with no video(s) showing.
