Getting Started with LiftEd

Modified on Fri, 27 Jan 2023 at 09:01 AM

To get started with LiftEd you will need to create a parent account.  Once you have your parent account you can log in to that parent dashboard and add student enrollments.

Once you have your students enrolled you can make sure you have their profiles, and log in credentials, all set up by clicking on My Students.  Then choose a student, click Profile, then Edit.  You will see many fields that can be edited and updated there - including their username.  You will also see a CHANGE PASSWORD option near the top.

Once you have selected a username and password for your students they can then, on their own devices, use the same log in page and enter their own credentials to log in to their own dashboards.

From their own dashboards they will see their My Day section where they will click on Explore Time (once that lesson drops and the purple "current time" line reaches the Explore Time link and the "Join" button appears) and they will then see their lesson path.

The path will have a greyed out background picture with several section icons along a path.  Right away there will be two icons that are blue (indicating that they are "clickable") - one is the Review section which is a quiz about the lesson the day before.  If students click that icon they will be starting that quiz.  If the student is logged on at the same time as other students in their Explorer group they can compete against those students while taking the quiz.

If the student prefers they can click right into the day's lesson by clicking on the Research section icon (a head with a brain) - that will start an instructive video which has "stops" along the bottom on the progress bar.  As the lesson is presented the video will pause on those stops and the students will be able to do an activity.  Once the activity is complete the instruction video will begin playing again.

Once a student completes the Research section the lesson path will appear and that section of the picture will turn to color and the next section icon will be blue and be "clickable".

When the entire lesson path is colored in your student will now be ready to join the live Discover Time discussion happening the next morning.  The Discover Time link becomes active, and the live discussion starts, when the purple "current time" line gets to the Discover Time link.  This is 9am if your student is signed up for a class in their own time zone.

Make sure your student's camera is on when they click the Discover Time link and your student will then join the other students, along with their learning coach, for a 45 to 50 minute live discussion with lots of fun activities.

When their live discussion ends your student is welcome to dive right into their Explore Time lesson at 10am and the fun starts all over again!
